This term Room7 Te Pahu school have been learning about energy. We wanted to learn a bit more energy so thats what  we made our inquiry .

We did heaps of experiments to show us how energy works like a slinky you rattle it and this line moves across it and comes back its kind of like sound waves and we put our ear against the desk and tapped it it sounded alot different than if you did it without your ear on the table.

Sound travels at 352 metres per second when light travels at 276 000 000 metres per second. there are lots of different types of energy like kinetic potential sound heat electricity light and magnetism.

Ag day

Yesterday at our school we had an agricultural day where you either entered an animal or built a home challenge. For the animals you had to train look after and feed them and then when you got to school you did challenges like rearing and going round courses. For a home challenge you had to design and make a portable garden a 3D canvas a bird house a tree stump design or a sandpit toy. ANIMALS you got to choose between a lamb a goat or a calf my friend Ashton had a lamb this is what he said about it: "Smudge" didnt like the wind so she was scared but overall our best placing was fourth" We also had school challenges for the people that didnt have an animal there was clay modelling, cupcake decorating, photography and design a T-shirt. in clay modelling you designed three different designs and then make them out of homemade play-doh FIMO or just terracotta clay. and then there was T-shirt designing and making first you made patterns on the T-shirt which was white and then you coloured it with felts. then there was the cupcake decorating which you iced put lollies on and sprinkles and heaps of other stuff. photography is next and i interviewed Shawna another student in Rm 7 she had to take photos of people and there animals she came first place in her catogorie and this is what she said about it:" i really liked it i got to take a younger student round to see the animals".

The snow trip

on friday the 6th of september room 7 had a snow trip we had to be there at 6 am which wasnt to bad. first we were put into our travel groups and then we set off it was a little bit boring travelling that far but aidens dad brought us hot chocolates on the way. when we got there we hired everything and then we set off, it was fun exhausting and a little bit hard i got the hang of balancing but that was it at that time. at 11:00 us snowboarders had a lesson it was hard but not to hard, after the lesson i found snow boarding kind of easy but i fell over lots but then i just laughed. it was great fun, and thanks to aidens dad for transporting us.
